RULES

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY. VIOLATION OF THE RULES MAY RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION AND THE FORFEITURE OF CIGARS. (If you have any questions call the Competition office: 425-785-0640.)

  1. Eligibility Requirements:
    1. Any commercial cigar produced by a professional cigar manufacturer that complies with the classification codes.
    2. A copy of the completed entry form must be received at the International Cigar Competition by July 10, 2009. (NOTE: Keep a copy of the completed entry form)
    3. All cigars must be received by July 10, 2009. Entrants are responsible for the shipment and condition of cigars received by the judges.
    4. The International Cigar Competition is not responsible for customs duty charges, shipping, or condition of cigars.
    5. Manufacturers may enter one cigar per label per category.
  2. To enter your cigars:
    1. FORMS AND FEES: The inaugural International Cigar Competition has no entry fee. Send a completed copy of the ICC Entry Form to:

    2. CIGARS: Send NINE (9) cigars per category entry by July 10, 2009, to:

  3. Entry Qualifications:
    1. There is a limit of one cigar entry per category per label.
    2. There is no limit to the number of cigar labels a manufacturer may enter.
  4. Basis of Judging:
    1. The judging will be by panels of highly qualified tasters.
    2. Judging will be by category; selecting the Gold, Silver, Bronze of each. No preordained criteria for judging will be mandated, each judge will select his/her winners by his/her individual criteria.
    3. If the judges are faced with a seriously flawed cigar, they will be allowed to purchase a new or good conditioned cigar to replace that damaged cigar at the entrants expense.
    4. The International Cigar Competition awards will be made on a merit basis. The judges will not grant awards when, in their opinion, no cigars are worthy of an award.

CIGAR ENTRY CATEGORIES

  1. FLAVORED - Infused or flavored cigars that have an other-than-natural tobacco flavor.
  2. VALUE - Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price $4 or less.
  3. PREMIUM - Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price $12 or less.
  4. SUPER PREMIUM - Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price Greater than $12.00
  5. OVERALL - All cigar entries are eligible and compete for this coveted Gold, Silver, and Bronze medal award.
